On September 12 at the the annual Ted Lindsay Foundation Celebrity Golf Outing Lakeland Alumni Tyler Laviolette (far right) was awarded the The Ted Lindsay Foundation and Sergei Fedorov Individual Courage Award. This award is awarded annually to an individual who has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and demonstrates great character and perseverance in living with the challenges of the disorder.
Tyler started his own successful business called Tyler's Bottle Service in the local area where he picks up cans and bottles for people from their homes and returns them. He keeps half the fees while the other half is returned to you. Tyler is a graduate of LHS and a graduate of Michigan Career and Technical Institute a trade school for individuals with disabilities. |

Lakeland Alum (2011) Nate Theaker was recent featured in an article in The Detroit News. "Package" Theaker is currently a graduate student in the Masters of Criminal Justice program at Wayne State University. Nate is a captain for the team and is playing in his 6th year of eligibility due to a major injury before his senior year.

Class of 2000 Lakeland Alum, Christy (Jeffries) Cahill (above, left) visited the White House in September 2016, not as a tourist, but as part of the U.S. Olympic Team contingent that met the President.
Christy currently serves as the Associate Director of Communications for the United States Olympic Committee. She has attended/worked at most of the Olympic Games (summer and winter) during the past 12 years.
