The 2014 LHS Holiday Hope for Kids bowl-a-thon was held on Sunday Nov 16th. 154 bowlers came out to help support special needs kids from across Oakland County by bowling to raise some money for their support. This money will go towards supporting the Holiday Hope for Kids holiday party and gift buying all in the month of December. Lakeland was proud to co-host, with Milford High School, the 2014 KLAA Lakes Conference Student Leadership forum. 11 of the 12 Lakes conferences school were in attendance with over 150 students coming together for a great day of Leadership. The student participated in making fleece hats and scarves for the Hurley Children's Hospital cancer unit. They also heard Harriett Turk, a national Leadership speaker talk to them about leadership and how it relates to their lives. Lakeland is proud to be a member of the KLAA Lakes Conference Student Activities Division. This year's Communication Camp experience was held the weekend of November 7th-9th at the Walled Lake Outdoor Education Center. Nearly 60 students and a total of 11 staff members participated in this annual retreat which focuses on developing communication skills and connections between different facets of the Lakeland community. Individuals had the opportunity to participate in team-building initiatives, small group discussions, large group interactions, and some old-fashioned leisure-time activities. Lakeland Leadership is happy to donate all of our food from the Lakeland Food Drive to the White Lake Goodfellows this holiday season. The Goodfellows keep all of our food and any food donated to them in the White Lake area. They are a good cause that helps out some our Lakeland families here in the area. Congratulations to the LHS BMT3 class on another fine showing at the 2014 Tennessee Trade Show by our firm, Dexacorp!
