Coach John Maltese, Coach James Loisel, Ryan Wonders, Michael Kutzleb, Nick Fus, Bryant Thickstun, Steven Schwartz, and Kyle Welling attended the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association Leadership Conference on February 3, 2014. The event was highlighted by guest speaker Lloyd Carr. I have pictures to share with you tomorrow. National Signing Day 2014 – Lakeland student-athlete, Ryan Kelly signs with Saginaw Valley State University - Senior Ryan Kelly signed to play football at Saginaw Valley State University (Cardinals), a NCAA Division II school located in Saginaw, Michigan. Ryan is one of Lakeland’s most complete athletes on the field and in the classroom. He has a cumulative 3.7 G.P.A. and plans to study Exercise Science at (SVSTU). He earned 8 Varsity letters at LHS, participating in Track & Field and Football. This past football season, Ryan was selected as Captain of the team and earned All-Conference, All-Metro North and All-State Honorable Mention recognition. In addition to his success on the field, Ryan is a 4 time KLAA Scholar Athlete. We wish Ryan the best as he moves forward in preparing for his playing experiences at Saginaw Valley State University. Congratulations to the LHS boys basketball team on winning a share of the KLAA North Division championship on Friday, February 7, with the win over WL Western.
